Even when you think you are safe and sober, it can raise its ugly head and you find yourself back from remission and into the disease but this time it's harder to get into remission. My hope is that more people will understand addiction as the disease it is and understand and support the person in this disease in their quest for a life long remission. This disease is one that has to be fought every single day for the rest of their lives. Support, love and acceptance are key for those suffering from addiction. No matter how many times they relapse the next time they try to get sober might just be the time that they are able to go into a long remission, possibly a remission that will last for the rest of their lives.
